Book festivals coming up

Two very different book festivals are coming up over the next month or so.
First up is the 14th Edinburgh Independent and Radical Book Fair based in Leith and absolutely free. Amongst the Scottish names and events are a celebration of the Edinburgh Review, an evening of Scots political song, the new book by Daniel Gray Stramash and the man of the moment Alasdair Gray who will talk about A life in Pictures in his own unique way.
Meanwhile Lennoxlove is playing host to another high-profile book festival. NLS is sponsoring an event with Ian Rankin, but also around are Judy Steel, poet Tom Pow, Iain M. Banks and a galaxy of starry names from south of the Border. It also features the return of one of the most popular though still rather neglected of Scottish writers – A.J. Cronin – whose most famous creation Doctor Finlay has just made a reappearance in an omnibus edition.
