Prize-giving

There has been a spate of prize-giving this summer with Scottish books and writers well to the fore. Fife-based HappenstancePress run by Helena Nelson was the winner of the publisher prize at the 2010 Michael Marks Award for Poetry Pamphlets hosted by the British Library. Ali Smith described the publishers as “a thriving press, elegant in form and accessible in content; a publisher whose ethos is, to quote Helena Nelson, “the best words in the best order, presented simply and beautifully.” “
